Jewels Foster was born in the south suburbs of Chicago and is a self taught painter and illustrator. Upon moving to Seattle, WA in April 2009 she decided to heavily focus on a new series of paintings. 
“My paintings have a lot of dark colors but with a hint of sunlight. I love painting this way because I feel that's how life is. Dark and Light. One doesn't exist without the other."
