Sea of Changes 11/27/2011
I know it's been a very long time since I've updated my blog. I've been going through major changes in my life from the start of the summer and finally the hurricane has left. I can't truly explained what happened, or how or why but I knew it was a necessary change that needed to happen in my life in order the circle to change. Upon this chaos of events, I have been able to return to school, an art school with a scholarship! I highly recommend it to anyone who lives in the Seattle area to check it out if you do not want to fork out about $50,000 of student loans a year to get the same education if not better. http://www.gageacademy.org is there website. I've became a buddhist, I practice Nichiren Buddhism, part of the Youth Women Division of SGI-USA. For those of you who do not know of Nichiren Buddhism, here is a link of a quick overview of what it is I study. http://www.sgi-usa.org/buddhism/buddhismofnichirendaishonin.php I'm also been in production mode, I have been working hard in my studio and started an apprenticeship for painting. I'm excited to see where my skills will take me as I discipline myself to learn the classical style of teaching. That is pretty much the overview of what has been happening in my life. I promise I will return to this blog daily with recipes, art news, any anything I come across that I want to share with all of you that I find very interesting and exciting. Change isn't always the easiest or the smoothest. I go back to the Pink Martini song, "Hang On Little Tomato" Just hang on, hang on to the vine Stay on, soon you'll be divine If you start to cry, look up to the sky Something's coming up ahead To turn your tears to dew instead And so I hold on to his advice When change is hard and not so nice You listen to your heart the whole night through Your sunny day will come one day soon to you Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.
