The 12th Annual Gage Drawing Jam features more opportunities to draw from the model than ever before from 9:00am to 9:00pm on Saturday, December 3. Named a “must-do event” by Seattle Magazine, the Drawing Jam features free art supplies, food, dozens of models, music and three floors of space — and now the event is expanding to the Skinner Auditorium next to Gage. Dancers, musicians and performers act as gesture models, figure models pose up to an hour at a time, and costumed portrait models sit for drawing. 'Stars of Seattle' Model All Day Costumed models include the “Stars of Seattle” — a group of local celebrities, this year features Teatro ZinZanni's Ariana Lallone (and former PNB star), SeaFair Pirates, Sylvia O’Stayformore, Purple Mark cast members from the Rocky Horror Picture Show presented by The Schoolyard. The Drawing Jam is geared for artists of all ages and abilities, and families are especially encouraged to attend. Kids have a room of their own to draw, paint, sculpt and craft during the day, and teens also have their own dedicated studio for the event. As always, kids and teens enter for free. Take a break from drawing to tour the studios, watch professional artist demos (by Gary Faigin, Larine Chung, Michael Lane & Juliette Aristides), and view three exhibitions currently showing at Gage. The exhibitions feature artwork from the recently published book by Gage atelier instructor Juliette Aristides, a group show of work by Gage alumni, and a solo show of works by Gage teaching artist Larine Chung.
